Spend one day with the author of "Field Guide to Tidal Wetland Plants of the Northeaster U.S. and Neighboring Canada" using the book to identify plants of salt, brackish and tidal freshwater marshes. The course begins with a short morning lecture introducing students to tidal wetland plant ecology, the dichotomous keys, and diagnostic characteristics for plant identification. Most of the day will be spent in the field using the book for plant identification. A variety of tidal wetlands in southern Massachusetts will be visited.
